'The frequent reduction of sustainability to worthshile instrumental actions - like stormwater management, organic farming or recycling - is doing "the cause" harm.
Such actions reduce sustainability to 'off-the-shelf' simple solutions and technofixes, and while they may be worthwhile acts of damage limitation and may deliver useful knowledge, they are not securing the ability to sustain.'
